Foot Locker's History
Originally a part of the F.W Woolworth Company, it was founded in 1974 and it separated out in 1988 as an independent company. Till 1997, this store was under the flagship of Woolworth's, which changed the group name to Venator Group Inc in 1997 and ultimately the brand became bigger than the group and the name was changed again to Foot Locker Inc in 2004. It is a Fortune 500 company with the latest rank of 400 in the year 2014. It is headquartered in New York City and has 1911 stores located across 21 countries.
