JC Penney has a long history in America. Founded by James Cash Penny in 1902 in Kemmerer, Wyoming, they quickly became a name in the retail industry in the Rocky Mountain States. The founder of Walmart, Sam Walton, started out working at JC Penny in 1940. Throughout the years with the economic ups and downs, JC Penny is one of the country’s largest apparel and home furnishings retailers.
When James Cash Penny founded the company, he believed that his company had to be an active member of the community, and that belief continues today. JC Penny adheres to conflict minerals policy, environmental policies, supplier compliances and many other national and international policies.
