Petplan has their eadquarters in Newtown Square, PA, Petplan is America's best-loved pet health insurance provider, and the sister company of Petplan UK, the world’s oldest and largest pet health insurer. Their long and ongoing relationship with Petplan UK uniquely allows them to draw upon more than 35 years of actuarial data, history and experience so that they can provide an unprecedented level of care, support and value to American pet parents. Petplan is much more than a pet insurance provider. They are dedicated to providing pet parents with the support, resources and tools they need to keep their pets, not just surviving, but thriving long into old age. Simply put, they aim to be the kind of company that will make our pets proud. Chris and Natasha Ashton launched Petplan in the U.S. after they experienced, first hand, the realities of going into debt to care for a sick pet.
At Petplan, one of their core values is that pets come first, always. The Petplan Fund is an all encompassing term for the ways they strive to live up to that trusting value, making a difference by giving back for the health and well-being of vulnerable and sick pets and their families who love them so dearly. Supporting both homeless pets and humane veterinary research into hereditary, congenital and other chronic conditions which affect pets, the Petplan Fund provides a vital resource for organizations and shelters that work to improve the lives of so many of the nation’s pets. As part of their overall initiative, they make quarterly financial contributions to their select partner shelters, rescues and humane societies across the country. They are proud to be able to help support and promote better health, safety and well being for some of the less fortunate and needy pets across the country.
What makes Petplan unique?
The commitment of their policyholders to the health of their pets is the reason that they, as a company, are able to give back so much to help pets. They have also launched a company service initiative that encourages Petplan employees to “paw it forward.” Each employee has the opportunity to spend a day volunteering with a cause that is near and dear to them, in exchange for one day of paid time off. Additionally, team members are encouraged to participate in two Petplan-sponsored charity events each year – sometimes alongside their furry friends. Through their culture of caring, they can bring their philosophy that "pets come first" to life every day, not only within their team, but throughout their local and national communities and the entire Petplan family.
