Sam's Club's History
Sam’s Club is a membership only warehouse retail store that is owned and operated by Walmart and similar to Costco and BJ’s Wholesale Club. The first Sam’s Club opened in 1983 in Midwest City, Oklahoma and today has grown to 615 locations in the United States, Brazil and China. Membership is required for most purchases at Sam’s Club, except for prescriptions.

They offer three different membership plans, Sam’s Plus, Sam’s Business and Sam’s Savings. Once you purchase an annual membership, members can purchase products at a great discount over other retail outlets. Sam’s Club carries a wide variety of products including groceries, pharmaceuticals and optical products.
