Simple Human's History
Simple Human was first founded in 2000. It has its headquarters located in Torrance, California in the United States of America. The owner of the business is called Frank Yang, he is also the founder and current CEO. They operate from a single location in the USA and also a single location in Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom. The office in the UK is located to service and supply orders from the rest of the European Union. Their estimated annual revenue is between five and ten million dollars. It is a privately owned company with under one hundred employees. When the business was first operations, it was called Canworks, this was mostly due to its focus on rubbish bins however, during 2001 the name was changed to Simple Human, this was also the same time the business shifted its focus and diversified the product range. The company has adopted a slogan which is “tools for efficient living”.

Their original products use specialist sensor technologies and are mostly designed around being touch free. If you have been on the website you will see the unique vanity mirror which is totally activated by sensors and uses the ever popular LED light. Whilst all products are on the internet, they can also be bought in various retail stores such as Sophora, Crate and Barrell, Bed Bath and beyond and Williams-Sonoma. They have been featured in O magazine, Men’s journal, Allure, Shape magazine and Betters homes & gardens to name but a few. They have won so many prestigious awards for their products, some of these are the red dot design award, International design excellence award, Housewares innovations awards and the European consumer choice award.
