Urban Outfitters' History
Urban Outfitters was founded in 1970 by Richard Hayne, Scott Belair, and Gabriel Tham-Morrobel. They were renamed and incorporated as Urban Outfitters in 1976. Today, they are a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ exchange with the symbol of URBN and a member of the S&P 500. In addition to their online store, they operate 238 retail stores in the United States, Europe and Canada.
