Xbox One's History
The Xbox One is a product within the larger Xbox brand umbrella, which itself is a subdivision of Microsoft. Introduced during the holiday season, 2013, the Xbox One is the most advanced gaming system released by Microsoft. The release was met with criticism due to the price point being almost $100 higher than that of rival Playstation 4. For a while, the company tried to justify the price, but eventually reduced it to be in line with the Playstation.
Xbox One's Values
The Xbox One team channels parent company Microsoft's values of openness and collaboration along with integrity and constantly working to make the customer experience as delightful as possible. The team spent over 8 years developing the console from the time its predecessor Xbox 360 was released in order to test hardware, software, and the user experience to go live.
What makes Xbox One's unique?
The Xbox One is unique because it is the first gaming console to leverage downloads for gameplay. Instead of inserting DVD-type game discs, players can download games from the Xbox Live store and start playing immediately.
