College classmates Dave Christensen and Marc Katz founded CustomInk in 2000 as an online retail company allowing customers to design their own T-shirts and sweatshirts before placing orders. Post-order feedback surveys were initiated and posted on the website in 2002. It was among the fastest growing U.S. private enterprises by 2005. Booster.com was launched in 2013 to promote fundraising efforts through sale of shirts. Over 500 branded styles are now available for custom-designed clothing and accessories.
CustomInk has design concepts for outerwear, athletics, T-shirts, bags, drink-ware, business wear, and other fun stuff. The company links groups to listed companies willing to sponsor events. Booster and Three Hearts initiatives have helped raise funds for many worthwhile causes. Recent awards include the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2015.
What makes CustomInk unique?
CustomInk has partnerships with CSA Images and House Industries among other renowned brands to increase designing capabilities. The website has a simple design program allowing people to add artwork, text, colors, and prints. In-house experts determined prices for custom items and display them along the shopping cart for customers to complete transactions.
