About Norton Antivirus
In 1990, security software company Symantec purchased Peter Norton Computing, along with its set of utility applications. By that time, Symantec had already released its own antivirus solution, but it chose to use the underlying tools developed by Norton to advance its antivirus capabilities. In 1991, Symantec launched the first version of Norton AntiVirus.
