Well, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are here, and they’re pretty darn cool.
They have better speakers, cooler cameras, you can drop them in water, and there’s no headphone jack (which is both awesome and frustrating at the same time).
So now you just need a new phone case.
Maybe you’ve heard that the dimensions for the iPhone 7 are the same as the iPhone 6. So, does that mean you can just use your old case on your new phone?
Well there’s good news, and there’s bad news:
If you have an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, your old case will ALMOST fit.
That’s right, the dimensions are the same, except the cameras on the iPhone 7 are larger than on the iPhone 6, there’s a speaker on top now, and there’s the whole no headphone jack thing, which made even more speaker-room on the bottom of the phone.
In other words, you need a new case.
Don’t try to stick with your iPhone 6 case. It’ll just be awkward.
And if you’re thinking of going commando and letting your new iPhone show off in all it’s glory, Apple themselves have been quoted saying their new jet black finish “may show fine micro-abrasions with use” and they suggest you “use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.”
But hey, who wants to buy a brand new iPhone 7 and not buy a shiny new case to go with it? That’s just absurd.
If you’re undecided about the idea of slapping a bulky case on your sleek new phone, don’t worry. I’ve put together the 5 best places on the web to find the thinnest, forget-you-even-have-a-case, iPhone cases.
