After 20 years of being employed in the factory, Van Doren was able to work his way up the corporate ladder and became the company’s Executive Vice President making Randy’s the third biggest shoe manufacturer in the U.S. Later on, he decided to leave Randy’s and he started his own company which was named Vans. The hardworking factory boy who had humble beginnings was indeed able to pull himself up and built an internationally known, successful shoe company.
