LivingSocial made waves when they announced last week on their blog that they would be retiring “daily deals”. That’s actually great news for the consumer, as they are expanding their offerings with several new products designed to compete with other deal sites such as Groupon and DealChicken. They introduced LivingSocial Coupons, where you can find free promo codes across hundreds of brands online. (No offense, but we still think BluePromoCode does it better.) They also revealed Stampede, which would allow customers to claim a deal, and then pay only when they redeem the offer. Now, merchants will be able to offer their deals for longer, and consumers won’t have to worry about missing out on essential deals. Want to know how to stretch those dollars at LivingSocial further?

Get your purchase for free when you tell three friends. When you make your purchase, you get a unique link for the offer that you can send to your friends via email, Twitter, or Facebook. If at least three friends buy the deal with the link, then your deal is free!

Get a LivingSocial credit card, if you’re a frequent buyer of deals. You’ll earn rewards for every dollar spent, and an automatic $30 in Deal Bucks as soon as you’re approved. You get 5 points for every LivingSocial purchase, 3 points for purchases made at restaurants and bars, and one point for all other purchases. 100 points will net you one Deal Buck, which you can use towards any LivingSocial purchase.

Learn the ins and outs of Deal Bucks. Deal Bucks cannot be applied to gift cards, LivingSocialPlus membership fees, to purchase more Deal Bucks, or where prohibited by the offers or in Terms and Conditions. Deal Bucks have varying expiration dates. You can check your Deal Bucks account balance and expiration dates here.
-
If your deal is expired, you can still use it for the amount that you paid for it. For example, if you bought $40 worth of spa services for $20, the spa service will have to give you $20 worth of services or goods when you redeem the voucher. Depending on the state you’re in, your redemption may expire in 5 years, or it may never expire.
-
You can get refunds on most LivingSocial purchases if you make your request within 7 days of your purchase. Double-check the policies on your offer before buying to make sure you understand the return limitations fully.
