Pantone has named Emerald the 2013 color of the year. This color can be added to your makeup palette for a nice update. It makes a great eye shadow, or eye liner color. This is especially the case if you have Brown, or Blue eyes as it helps to bring them out.
Sephora has teamed up with Pantone to bring out an Emerald cosmetics collection that includes many eye products. For example check out the Sephora+ Pantone Universe Color Theory Shadow Block-Bionic, below.
Besides Emerald it includes a White shimmer color and a Navy color. The Navy color is also one of the Pantone colors for spring 2013. To use this palette apply the Emerald shade to your eyelid and part way up the brow bone. Use the Navy to line around your eyes and the White shimmer at the top of your brow bone, just beneath the eyebrow. This will act as a highlighter.
The picture below shows this kind of look done in quite a dramatic way, but you can tone it down by simply applying it more softly. You could also skip the color on the bottom lash line and instead apply the eye shadow to the top eyelid only.

This eyeliner would work well with neutral eye shadow colors like Cream, Beige and Brown.
