Dealspotr’s network of influencers includes notable bloggers and social media personalities across a wide range of topics and interests, but all with a focus on frugal living and saving money. In our weekly Influencer Spotlight, we invite one influencer to share their experiences and success stories with the rest of our community. If you’d like to be featured, send me a message via Dealspotr.
Since the dawn of blogging, "mommy blogs" have been around to help out other families with parenting advice, money-saving tips, and general motherly wisdom. But moms aren't the only ones who have taken to the keyboard to share their experience - there's another side of the parenting blog world that you have yet to discover. Dads have become an integral part of the blogging community, too, with their own take on this whole parenting thing.
Chris Lewis is one of these dads. When he first started his blog, Dad of Divas, there weren't too many other dads sharing their parenting experience on the web. So he decided to take matters into his own hands. Now, he cohost's a podcast for dads, and even runs a "Dads in the Spotlight" series where he highlights everyday dads and everything they do. Chris is here now to share his blogging experience with you in this week's Influencer Q&A.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF! FIRST NAME, WHERE YOU'RE FROM, YOUR "DAY JOB," AND ANY OTHER FUN FACTS YOU'D LIKE US TO KNOW.My name is Chris Lewis and I am the father of two girls aged 9 and 13. I work as a college administrator by day and blog at Dad of Divas and podcast at Dad Spotlight as I can fit it in! I am an active dad, a member of our local school board, the resident photographer for both my girls' soccer teams and President of our Neighborhood Association.
DESCRIBE YOUR BLOG. WHAT IS ITS MAIN FOCUS?Dad of Divas has been around since 2007. It started as a blog talking about my own fatherhood journey and has continued to do that as well as sharing great products and more family-centered content throughout the years.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO BLOGGING? WHEN DID YOU START?I knew other bloggers and loved how they were telling their story. At the time when I started I found that there were not a lot of dads that were sharing their own stories online. This has changed over the years, but I have been happy to see the overall change.
What was your best-performing blog post TO DATE? What do you think made it successful? It would have to be my review of car-related technology called "It’s Time to Hit the Road This Summer!" This was popular not only for the device but also for the information I was sharing!
What’s the one way your blog is unique or distinct from other blogs in your niche?I have been running the Dads in the Limelight Series now for the last 7 years. I have continued to try to share great examples of fatherhood for others dads to learn from!
What's one thing you love about Dealspotr? Has Dealspotr helped your blog out in any way?I love saving money and helping others to save money too! I am just starting to share more content from Dealspotr on the blog!
If you could identify the one thing (okay, or multiple things) responsible for your blog's success, what would that be?Consistency and being willing to help others!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE LOOKING TO START A BLOG?Know what you want to talk about and be willing to keep talking about it. Make friends and be willing to give more than you take. Focus on one social media and really understand that one before you start being an expert on everything. Once you feel like you have mastered one, move to the next and go from there. This does not preclude you from saving the spaces on social media though!
Is there a useful tool or resource you've used that you'd recommend to other bloggers? Maybe something other bloggers might not know about? If you want to grow Twitter, use Manageflitter!
Tell us about the most exhilarating moment you've experienced as a blogger.Probably being asked to go out on a Disney Press Junket trip and being able to go to the Pixar studio.
Which major blogger or influencer do you most admire and why? There are many dads that I have loved working with including Adam Cohen of dadarocks, Beau Coffron of Lunchbox Dad, Jeff Bogle of OWTK and more.
Have you ever experienced a moment when you wanted to quit blogging? How did you overcome it?Yes, there have been times. Mostly when I am overwhelmed! I continue to push through it and then get reinvigorated.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOW?So many... love that so many of the comics are now on TV. "Supergirl," "Daredevil," "Marvel's Agents of Shield," "Arrow," "Legends of Tomorrow" and "Flash!"
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SNACK?Guacamole and chips.
If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be? Hmmm... Would love to eat with Walt Disney.
