So, the next time your fridge starts looking bare, use this guide to save money by couponing at Harris Teeter.
Harris Teeter offers special discounts and sales for shoppers who sign up for its VIC card. With this card, you can take advantage of sales and use double coupons, so it’s worth looking into. To get your card, just bring a photo ID to the customer service desk. Then, be sure to scan your card or give your phone number with every purchase.
After getting your VIC card, you are eligible for Harris Teeter’s e-VIC program. Once you sign up, you’ll receive emails with current promotions every Wednesday and Friday. When items you purchase regularly go on sale, the grocery store will send you an email alert. As a member, you will be able to get a discount on the e-VIC deal of the week and access to exclusive e-VIC coupons. You can also create shopping lists through your account.
Be sure to link your VIC account to your e-VIC membership during the registration process. You’ll be able to add digital coupons to your card and you won’t have to bring the paper coupons with you.

Harris Teeter gives away $100 worth of groceries to one e-VIC member every week. With your membership, you are automatically entered into the sweepstake, so check the bottom of your e-VIC emails to see if you won.
Once you have selected and loaded your e-VIC coupons onto your card, look through the available Harris Teeter printable coupons. If you have a printable coupon and a digital coupon for one item, you can use both at checkout. Just make sure to load them both on your e-VIC card before shopping.
Harris Teeter has two types of BOGO sales it offers regularly: Buy One Get One Free (B1G1) and Buy Two Get Three Free (B2G3).
Buy One Get One Free
With B1G1 sales, each item will ring up at half price, so you can still save 50%, even if you only buy one item. You can also use one coupon per item, so you can buy two items and use two coupons at checkout.
Buy Two Get Three Free
For B2G3 sales, two items will ring up at regular price and the other three will be free. You can also use coupons with these transactions, but you’ll only be able to apply coupons to the two items you purchase.
Each Harris Teeter store has its own weekly ads, so be sure to check the online weekly specials for your local store. Store, competitor, internet, and manufacturer coupons are all accepted, though only one can be used per item. The grocery store doesn’t offer money back if your coupon savings exceed the purchase amount. Instead, each coupon amount will be adjusted to match product prices. Before shopping, make sure your coupons are printed or loaded onto your e-VIC card. Harris Teeter won’t apply coupons after purchase and doesn’t accept coupons presented on mobile devices. The best part of couponing at Harris Teeter is the ability to double up to 20 coupons worth $0.99 or less every day. VIC members can use one manufacturer coupon per item and up to three like coupons per transaction. If you have more than 20 coupons, any coupon after the 20th will be applied at face value. VIC cards are required for these savings, so make sure you have it with you. Restrictions listed in the coupon policy still apply.

If you have more than 20 coupons you want to double, split your shopping into two days. You’ll be able to double 20 coupons each day and get the savings you want.
If you find mailer, newspaper, circular, Catalina, or register coupons for a Harris Teeter competitor, you can redeem them at the grocery store. You can only use one coupon for a discount on your total order per day, but you can use multiple competitor coupons for specific items during your transaction. Internet competitor coupons are not accepted.
Harris Teeter usually holds Super Double or Triple coupon events every six weeks. During Super Double events, coupons up to $2 are doubled. Triple coupon events allow shoppers to triple coupons worth up to $0.99 in discounts. That’s a lot of savings!
e-VIC members have access to special weekend deals, which can be seen in Friday’s email or the app. These items are usually limited to four per person, but you can use coupons with them. These deals will be added automatically to your account, so check before you go shopping.
If you are too busy to go grocery shopping, use the Harris Teeter app to have your shopping done for you. With the app, you can select items from the purchases you made over the past six months or use your phone to scan items in your pantry. After adding the items you want to your cart, you can pay through the app and select your pickup time. When you get to the store at that time, an employee will bring your groceries right to your car. The app is available for iPhone and Android.

Do you want to pre-slice your fresh loaf of bread or get really ripe bananas? Add a note to your order and your shopper will get what you need.
While shopping, keep an eye out for yellow sale tags on the shelves. Some sales carry over into the next week, so you may be able to get additional savings by looking for these unadvertised sales as you shop.
If an item you want now or in the future is out of stock, get a rain check. You can use a rain check at any Harris Teeter location and they never expire. The supermarket offers rain checks for specific items, so you can get one for a specific flavor or variety, even if other options are available.

When you get a rain check, try to hold on to it until the product goes on sale. Better yet, if you have a rain check and a coupon for an item, wait until a Super Double or Triple event. You’ll be able to get the item with the full discount, even if it’s out of stock.
If you have prescriptions, get them filled at the Harris Teeter pharmacy. They accept all major insurance providers and offer up to 60% off a wide variety of generic medicines. You can also use the pharmacy for a variety of health services, including flu shots, allergy screenings, free blood pressure checks, and more.
Every two weeks, Harris Teeter will offer a new Meal Deal, which includes all the items you need for a full meal at a low price. These deals can often offer a great bargain, especially if you have coupons to use on the individual items.
Meat is almost always the most expensive purchase on your shopping list. Lessen this expense by purchasing your meat after it’s marked down. Your local store likely marks down meat on a specific day each week, so find out which day that is and only buy meat then.
Harris Teeter guarantees its prices, so if an item rings up higher than the advertised price, you get one like item for free. If your item doesn’t ring up at the sale price, all you have to do is see customer service to get your free item. This guarantee doesn’t include tobacco or alcohol.

If you have an account with a program such as SavingStar, Ibotta, Upromise, or Checkout51, you can use your savings options at Harris Teeter. You won’t see discounts at checkout, but you will be able to get significant savings through deposits in your program account.
At many Harris Teeter stores, you’ll find shopping carts full of clearance items throughout the store in aisles and near the registers. Check these carts for items you can use and items you have coupons for. The store will accept coupon discounts on clearance items.
Harris Teeter offers many items through its cheaper store brand. You’ll be able to get the items you want, including organics, for much less.
