One of the most well-regarded names in luxury department stores is Saks Fifth Avenue. Founded in Manhattan, the store offers discerning customers high-quality designer fashion. While prices at the department store can be lofty, there are great ways to save money on top-of-the-line pieces that will last several generations.
Dealspotr has a commitment to saving consumers as much money as possible when shopping at stores like Saks Fifth Avenue. With that goal in mind, we have created the list below detailing easy ways to put dollars back in your pocket when shopping at the department store.
Look For Saks Fifth Avenue Coupons and Promo Codes
What Is Saks Fifth Avenue's Coupon and Promotion Policy
Like its competitors Neiman Marcus and Barney’s, Saks Fifth Avenue tends to favor sales promotions over printable coupons or even online coupon codes. Some promotion codes can be found on outside coupon sites, but the majority of sales are automatically applied.
Saks Fifth Avenue’s excellent and nearly-constant promotions and sales more than make up for the relative lack of coupons. When visiting SaksFifthAvenue.com, look to the top of the screen to find out about the latest promotions.
How to Take Advantage of Saks Fifth Avenue Sales and Promotions
One way to save at Saks is by signing up for their e-mail list and text alerts. By joining these two programs, shoppers are alerted to the newest sales and get notifications about the latest merchandise. After adding your email to the mailing list, you get 10% off of your next purchase!
Occasionally, Saks offers periods in which shoppers can earn cash-back gift cards. Spending more during these events earns you even more rewards. When customers spend $250 they earn a $50 gift card, $500 earns a $100 gift card, $1000 earns a $200 gift card, $2000 earns a $600 gift card, and $3000+ earns a $900 gift card.
A final way to take advantage of Saks' discounted merchandise is to shop at Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th retail locations or the web store at SaksOFF5th.com. The stores offer incredible deals on excellent merchandise, like 70% off his and hers apparel and BOGO deals on men's suits.
Insider Tip
Visit the Saks sales page when you want to stock up on items for next year. Outgoing seasonal items, such as Summer Favorites, can be had at an excellent price. The sales page allows customers to shop by category or by price range.
Become a SaksFirst Member to Earn Points and Rewards
What SaksFirst Is
A SaksFirst membership is a store credit card that is accepted at Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks.com, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, and SaksOFF5th.com; there is also an option for a MasterCard-backed SaksFirst card which can be used anywhere that the major credit card is accepted.
How SaksFirst Works
The SaksFirst program is a great way for consumers who do a lot of shopping at the store to earn rewards and gain benefits all year long. Every dollar that is spent at Saks stores earns between 2-6 points, depending on the member's annual spending the previous year. Once 2,500 points are earned, a $25 gift card is sent to the customer.
The lowest tier of membership is Premier, which requires $5,000 annual spending and earns 2 points per dollar spent. The next level is Elite, which requires $10,000 annual spending and earns 4 points per dollar spent. Next is Platinum status, requiring $25,000 annual spending and earning 6 points per dollar spent. The final level, Diamond, also earns 6 points-per-dollar but offers additional perks over the lower statuses.
There are two levels of the SaksFirst MasterCard: the SaksFirst Platinum MasterCard and the SaksFirst World Elite MasterCard. Both cards offer all of the benefits of a SaksFirst membership as well as MasterCard Platinum or World Elite memberships.
Insider Tip
If you are expecting to make a big purchase, keep your eyes peeled for Plus Shot Point Events. These events give SaksFirst members the opportunity to earn Double Points, Triple Points, or Bonus Points. Making your biggest purchases on these days is an excellent strategy towards earning additional $25 gift cards.

Use Price Match or Price Adjustments
What They Are
Many stores allow customers to receive a credit when a recently-purchased item suddenly goes on sale. Most stores offer an internal price adjustment policy; Saks Fifth Avenue takes it a step further with an external price match program. When an item purchased at Saks is being sold for less by a limited number of competitors, the store will refund the difference.
How it Works
The price adjustment policy at Saks Fifth Avenue is quite simple. The item has to have been purchased at full price, and it has to have been marked down within seven days of the purchase date.
The price match policy at Saks is a little bit more complicated. First of all, there are only six department stores which can be price-matched - Barney's, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Lord and Taylor. Additionally, items which are on sale at those competitor department stores do not qualify for price matching.
If you do have a purchase that qualifies for price match or price adjustment, claim this rebate by emailing the store or using the "Live Chat" function.
Insider Tip
While the price adjustment policy and price match policy at Saks Fifth Avenue are nice perks, they are not comprehensive enough to rely on. For the price match policy, if there is a discrepancy as small as a different size, the store will not honor the price match.
