Graduate college with a mechanical engineering degree, get a good job with a major corporation, start a family; Derek Chamberlain was pretty much living the standard American dream. That’s when he decided to do something a bit different. He started his own personal finance blog and branch out on his own with a new endeavor.

It was then that Money Ahoy was born. Chamberlain does a fantastic job dispensing financial advice on the site and does so in an engaging and accessible way that makes it much more relatable to the average person than a lot of other financial blogs. Q: What are your favorite topics to blog about??

 

A: I like to blog about all things money - making money, saving money, and investing money!

A: I have had MoneyAhoy.com for about 2.5 years in total.

 

Q: What’s the most interesting reader interaction you’ve ever had?

 

A: Helping a reader to invest some money in a method that would work well for them.

 

Q: What prompted you to get started with blogging?

 

A: I got started with blogging after accidentally running across SmartPassiveIncome.com.

 

Q: What do you like most about blogging?

 

A: I like writing about new and fun ways to save money. This helps push me to make improvements in my own life financially.

 

Q: What advice would you give to an aspiring blogger?

 

A: Get started now! There is never a great time to start - just get out there and start cranking out content now!
