I m a minimalist and I always try to bring as few things with me as possible when I travel. I often travel to glamorous destinations for long weekends, such as Monaco, St-Tropez, Ibiza, Cannes or Venice. It is important to show up well-dressed for an event in these cities, but it is also important that I can fit everything into a carry-on luggage.
The five most important items I will never leave home without are the following:
-
Black cocktail dress – It works for any parties, whether it is a birthday party or a charity event. It is a must have for any formal party weekend. Black works in any setting. You will never be overdressed or underdressed in a black cocktail dress.
-
Elegant daytime dress – It is important to have an elegant dress that you can wear during the day. Whether you are planning to spend the day in a beach club in St-Tropez, or you just want to stroll down the Croisette in Cannes during the film festival, an elegant Summer dress will allow you to be comfortable and chic during the day.
-
Bathing suit - It is an absolute must to have a bathing suit on any trip, as you never know whose yacht you may end up on in the South of France.
-
Flat shoes and high heels – It is important to have comfortable sandals for running around during the day and it is also important to have elegant high heels for the night. I prefer to have beige or gold sandals and black heels for elegant events.
-
Flashy Accessories and Jewelry – Even the most boring dress can become glamorous with large earrings and rings and some beautiful accessories. Even if you think you don’t have the greatest outfit, you can make it more chic by accessorizing yourself with some elegant pieces. I always make sure I have a few beautiful large earrings and rings and belts on me.
