Sprint, like all other major network carriers, is vying for your loyalty, and your money. To that end, it’s working out great for you, as they attempt to entice consumers by undercutting their competitors with the introduction of price-friendly products and discounts. We cut through the noise, and read through all the fine print so that you don’t have to. There are great deals to be had on the web, but we found you additional savings, too.

Check Whether You Qualify For A Corporate Employee Discount
Many companies and corporations offer corporate discounts to their employees, up to 25%. There are several lists floating on other sites, but they may be outdated or inaccurate. To verify whether your company qualifies for a discount, submit your query to Sprint’s community forum. Currently, Sara from the Social Care team has been answering queries about the companies that provide discounts for their employees. For example, if you work for USPS, you are eligible for a 20% discount. Costco employees get a 23% discount. If you confirmed that you have a discount, go to http://sprint.com/verify to enter your Sprint phone number, and you’ll receive confirmation of your eligibility within three days. Military, students, and retirees may also be eligible for discounts.
Check Whether You Qualify For An Upgrade Discount
If you’re already a Sprint customer, you may be eligible for an upgrade discount. Check here to see if you qualify. If you made your last upgrade on or after 10/2/2011, then you are eligible for an upgrade discount after twenty months.
Is The Sprint Unlimited Data Plan Worth It?
Last week, Sprint unveiled their new Sprint Unlimited Guarantee, and new Unlimited, My Way, and My Way All-in plans. It’s obviously meant to compete with T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plans, which also guarantees unlimited data. We covered the costs and trade-offs of T-Mobile’s plans last week. Let’s compare what you get with T-Mobile, and with Sprint:
T-Mobile:
For $50, you get unlimited talk and text, 500 MB of high-speed data, plus additional included services such as call waiting, caller ID, call forwarding, etc with Simple Choice for one phone line. For an extra $10, you’ll get 2 GB of high speed data. For $70, you’ll get unlimited 4G high speed data. To add another line, it’s $30 extra for the second line, then $10 for each additional line, up to five lines. If you go over your data limits, you will not be charged extra; however, you’ll find your data slowed down. No annual service contract required. You will be paying full-price for whatever phone you want, though. (You can also bring in an unlocked phone and just pay for the SIM card.)
Sprint:

For $50, you unlimited talk and text for one phone line. For basic phone data, you can choose not to pay for it, or pay $10 a month for unlimited. For smartphone data, you can pay $20 a month per line for 1 GB of data, or $30 for unlimited data per line. Consumers can add up to ten lines per account. The Unlimited My All-In Plan gives consumers unlimited talk, text, and data and 5 GB of mobile hotspot usage for $110. Consumers who choose one of these plans are guaranteed unlimited talk and text for the life of the service. Existing customers can switch plans without extending their service contract. New activations require a two-year service agreement per line.
Verdict:
T-Mobile wins on basic pricing alone (as well as the lack of a contract requirement), but if you need more flexibility, such as the ability to add more than five lines, or want cheaper phones, Sprint is where you should go.
