Hailing from North Carolina, Lisa Mills has been running her blog, Work At Home Mom Revolution, for the past 10 years. The site helps stay-at-home parents find paying jobs that can be done without ever having to step foot in an office again! Now, Lisa is passing on her success story to her peers here at Dealspotr. 

Introduce yourself! First name, where you're from, your "day job," and any other fun facts you'd like us to know.

I'm Lisa Mills. I live in North Carolina. I have three grown daughters. I've worked from home for more than 20 years, most of that time spent as a general transcriptionist. I currently publish a work at home website for moms.

Describe your blog. What is it's main focus?

My site is Work at Home Mom Revolution. It's a website for moms and dads seeking work from home. I publish fresh work at home job leads daily, as well as home business opportunities, extra cash opportunities, and more.

How did you get into blogging? When did you start?

I started Work at Home Mom Revolution in 2007. I had been working at home for some time and wanted to encourage other moms who sought to work from home. I love getting emails from moms who have found work from home through my site!

In your opinion, what is the best way to gain new followers? Best way to keep those followers?

The best way to gain new followers is by providing value. Find a need and fill it. The best way to keep those followers is to continue to provide value, but also to never break trust with your readers. I only promote job and home business opportunities I think will benefit my readers.

What social media sites do you use to supplement your blog? How do you use these sites to your advantage?

I use Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook primarily. These sites give you the opportunity to draw new readers to your site.

What's one thing you love about Dealspotr? Has Dealspotr helped your blog out in any way?

I love Dealspotr because it's a great way to bring in some extra cash or earn gift cards with very little effort.

If you could identify the one thing (okay, or multiple things) responsible for your blog's success, what would that be?

The main thing responsible for Work at Home Mom Revolution's success is that the site fills a need. More and more people are seeking work from home, and more companies are becoming open to hiring home-based workers.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start a blog?

Find a need and fill it, or choose a niche you're passionate about. Because posting every day to several times a week gets hard if you don't enjoy what you do.

Is there a useful tool or resource you've used that you'd recommend to other bloggers? Maybe something other bloggers might not know about?

I would recommend the Wordpress platform and self-hosting. A lot of people start out with a free platform. Don't waste time building someone else's property. Own your site by using Wordpress and self-hosting.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I feel grateful I've been able to work from home and publish Work at Home Mom Revolution for the past ten years. It's allowed me to make a living working from home, while helping people find work they love.
