Where to Get the Best Thin iPhone 7 Cases at the Best Price

If you’re undecided about the idea of slapping a bulky case on your sleek new phone, don’t worry. Here are the 5 best places on the web to find ultra-thin iPhone cases.
Updated November 20, 2017

Well, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are here, and they’re pretty darn cool.

They have better speakers, cooler cameras, you can drop them in water, and there’s no headphone jack (which is both awesome and frustrating at the same time).

So now you just need a new phone case.

Maybe you’ve heard that the dimensions for the iPhone 7 are the same as the iPhone 6. So, does that mean you can just use your old case on your new phone?

Well there’s good news, and there’s bad news:

If you have an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, your old case will ALMOST fit.

That’s right, the dimensions are the same, except the cameras on the iPhone 7 are larger than on the iPhone 6, there’s a speaker on top now, and there’s the whole no headphone jack thing, which made even more speaker-room on the bottom of the phone.

In other words, you need a new case.

Don’t try to stick with your iPhone 6 case. It’ll just be awkward.

And if you’re thinking of going commando and letting your new iPhone show off in all it’s glory, Apple themselves have been quoted saying their new jet black finish “may show fine micro-abrasions with use” and they suggest you “use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.”

But hey, who wants to buy a brand new iPhone 7 and not buy a shiny new case to go with it? That’s just absurd.

If you’re undecided about the idea of slapping a bulky case on your sleek new phone, don’t worry. I’ve put together the 5 best places on the web to find the thinnest, forget-you-even-have-a-case, iPhone cases.

Every one of these are super high quality, lightweight, and low-profile, so you won’t be detracted any cool points when you pull it out in public.

So here are 5 of the best places to buy a thin, sleek, beautiful iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus case:

Peel

Peel offers an elegant and beautifully-slim case for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. They’re 0.35mm thin and they have a protective lip for your camera. If you’ve ever dropped your phone flat on its back, you know that little bit of protection is beyond necessary.

One of the cool features of Peel’s cases is the fact that they have a brand-free design. That’s a bold move on their part, considering the marketing blow they take on each phone shipped without a logo, but hey, it looks cheezy to have a big logo (that’s not an Apple) on the back of your phone. Score one for Peel. Oh, and they’re semi-transparent, so you’ll still be able to see the Apple logo as if there’s no case at all.

There’s no screen protection though, so if you’re looking for something more than simple dirt, scratch, and basic damage protection, you might want to check out others on this list.

  • No branding, so people don’t know you have a case

  • Protective lip for camera lens

  • Thinness: 0.35mm

  • Colors: Black, Silver, Gold, Rose Gold (which is basically pink)

  • Price: $24.99 (Use Dealspotr coupons to save on Peel phone cases)

Shumuri

Shumuri claims to be the case for people who hate cases, and I can see why.

Like Peel, their iPhone 7 cases are super-thin at 0.35mm, so it’ll be easy for people (and you) to miss the fact that you even have a case on your phone. Also like Peel, Shumuri cases have a raised protective lip to keep your camera from getting damaged should your phone ever fall directly on it.

They don’t have much of a selection of colors, as their 2 main options are clear and black. But if you’re going for low-profile, that may be just what you want. After all, Apple’s not too bad at design themselves, right? Why not let their design shine through?

Their cases offer a textured grip, so you hopefully won’t have to test out the case’s durability by having it slip out of your hand. At $18.99, Shumuri case is a pretty good deal for the ultra-low profile phone case shopper.

  • Thinness: 0.35mm

  • Colors: Clear, Grey (like a clear “smoked” look), Black

  • Scratch protection

  • Textured grip

  • Protective lip for camera lens

  • Price: $18.99 (Use Dealspotr coupons to save on Shumuri phone cases)

Otterbox

Otterbox calls themselves the “#1 Selling Case in the US”. Whether that’s true or not, I think it’s safe to say most people have heard of Otterbox.

Seeing as the company started by making water-, shock-, and drop-resistant mobile device cases for outdoor enthusiasts, they’re not exactly known for having the thinnest cases. In fact, the early Otterbox cases were known for being HUGE, so big they would barely fit in your pocket.

But man they were dependable.

That was years ago though, and now Otterbox combines the same protective know-how with design elegance to make both thin and super-protective iPhone 7 cases.

They have 5 different styles, from the Symmetry Series, which looks to be their thinnest and lowest-profile design, to the Defender Series, which pretty much protects your phone from everything. The Defender Series isn’t exactly “sleek” though, so we’ll focus on the Symmetry Series here.

The Otterbox Symmetry Series may not be the thinnest phone case on this list, but you’ll trade a little bit of sleekness for protection. Otterboxes are known for their durability and protection, so while people will definitely be able to tell you have a case on your phone, you’ll have a little more peace of mind.

And let’s face it, Otterbox has become a brand of its own, so having an Otterbox just says you like to take care of your stuff.

  • Raised, beveled screen bumper

  • Made from synthetic rubber and polycarbonate

  • Colors: Black, Purple, Pink, Dark Blue, Light Blue, and Clear

  • They sell an Alpha Glass Screen Protector to go with it for an additional $39.95

  • Price: $39.95 (Use Dealspotr coupons to save on Otterbox phone cases)

*Note: They also have a leather case, which is pretty cool too.

Sena

I like Sena’s iPhone 7 cases because they’re unique compared to others on this list.

Sena has what I would call “upscale” iPhone cases for business professionals and women. Not that I’m pigeonholing their design into two categories, I would just say it fits nicely for those two groups of individuals.

For example, they have an ultra thin 1.7 mm “LeatherSkin” case that’s simple and clean, and adds a certain level of sophistication to an already sophisticated iPhone 7 design. They also sell really thin leather walletbooks and wallet cases as well, which seem to be getting more popular.

They also sell iPhone 7 case/wallets for women with luxurious-looking designs.

  • Thinness: 1.7 mm

  • Full-grain leather

  • Shock absorbent

  • Raised bezel

  • Colors: Brown, Black, Gray, Denim

  • Add your initials to the back for an extra $7.99 (I thought that was cool)

  • Price: $39.95 (Use Dealspotr coupons to save on Sena phone cases)

Spigen

Last but not least, there’s Spigen cases.

Spigen has a nice selection of cases for the iPhone 7, with a wide range of features and thicknesses. For the purposes of this article, however, we’re going to look at the iPhone 7 Case AirSkin.

At 0.36mm, the AirSkin lands in the same neighborhood as Peel and Sumuri when it comes to thinness. Unlike some of its competitors though (Peel), Spigen has its logo on the back of their case, which may or may not be a big deal.

I do have to say though, that I wasn’t very impressed by their website experience when shopping for a case. Having said that, it’s one of the least expensive iPhone 7 cases on this list, so I can put up with a less-than-perfect website experience.

And if you’re not in love with the AirSkin, they seem to have plenty of other cases to choose from, including one called the “iPhone 7 Case Liquid Armor” that’s nearly as thin as the AirSkin and comes in black.

  • Thinness: 0.36mm

  • Frost (or matte) finish protects from fingerprints

  • Colors: Clear

  • Several similar models to choose from

  • Price: $19.99 (Use Dealspotr coupons to save on Spigen phone cases)
