Phillip Lim and Target are officially forging ahead with a collaboration that has been five years in the making! After a lengthy courtship, the designer and the retailer finally decided on a limited edition lifestyle collection featuring designs for both men and women.
Over 100 pieces will be created including bags for under $60 and leather jackets ranging from $250-$300. Apparel, shoes and travel accessories will also be available for purchase. Lim is known for designing garments that are effortlessly chic, and he has appealed to the masses for some time now having garnered both critical and commercial success with his label 3.1 Phillip Lim.
Since Target's triumph with Italian fashion house Missoni the retailer has been on a bit of a collaboration spree with designers from Prabal Gurung to Hollywood stylist Kate Young, never quite having achieved what they did with Missoni. This partnership in particular, comes with much anticipation, as insiders believe this may be the collection to bring them back up to Missoni status. Scheduled to be in stores just three days after New York Fashion week wraps, Phillip Lim X Target will make its debut on September 15th.
