H&M has garnered a catastrophic amount of attention, and this time for good reason. The press and the public are celebrating their newest summer ad campaign starring Jennie Runk.

A virtual unknown in the modeling industry, Runk is a 24 year old Missouri native and plus model who is the star of the Swedish retailers’ latest plus-size swimwear collection. In years past, H&M has been slammed for photoshopping heads of models and placing them on computer generated bodies with different skin tones.

The new campaign features tasteful, sexy shots. Runk is seen on the beach sporting one-piece swimsuits, bikinis and shorts and tops. Jennie is using her newfound fame to promote a healthy body image and has taken to her Facebook page and Twitter account to give advice to girls, and voice her opinion on the word “plus-size”. H&M has taken the praise in stride explaining to Quartz, “Our aim is not to convey a certain message or show an ideal but to find a model who can illustrate this collection in an inspiring and clear way.”  Pieces from the new swimwear line can be purchased at H&M stores worldwide and online.
