Here is the complete Q&A:
Q: How long have you been couponing?
A: I have been couponing for 13 years.
Q: Why did you start couponing?
A: After my first daughter I started using coupons because the addition of diapers and wipes was a big expense. It grew from there into using coupons for lots of other products and stores too.
Q: How long have you had your blog?
A: I have had my blog for a little over 3 years.
Q: What prompted you to get started with blogging?
A: I had a lot of friends and family asking how I did it. They saw the great deals I was getting and wanted in on the action! I started a blog to share the weekly deals with everyone and it grew.
Q: What do you like most about couponing?
A: I like the thrill of getting something ridiculously cheap. It also allows me to splurge on other items when I save on groceries.
Q: Where is your favorite place to shop with coupons?
A: I love to shop at Target with my coupons. They have so many other ways to save in addition to my coupons, so it makes sense.
Q: What advice would you give to couponing newbies?
A: Start small. Pick one store and learn how to coupon there, once comfortable, try another. See what works best for you. Each store has its own set of rules and policies, so it’s different for everyone.
Q: What is the biggest challenge couponers face?
A: Coupon have gotten harder to use. Many stores only allow 4 of the same coupon. Different stores also have different rules, so it can be confusing to some people and they get discouraged. It’s still worth it in the end, so keep trying!
Q: Where do you see the future of couponing going?
A: I think coupons will always be around. I have seen coupons go “digital” and that’s a “green” idea that I like. Plus, loading a coupon right onto your store card is so much easier for you -and the cashier too.
Q: Have any final thoughts?
A: If you want to start couponing, check out blogs that have pages specifically designed for newbies. Or go to blogs that are designed to show you the deals and coupons for the specific store you shop at. Most have “match-ups” where they match the weekly sales with the specific coupon you need (and where to find it).
