After a long day at work you finally get home and slump onto the couch. You think about how nice it’ll be to shower and suddenly realize you don’t have any shampoo left. Now you have the choice of dragging yourself out just to buy shampoo or going without. But what if there was a way to make sure you never run out of essentials like shampoo or tampons again?

It seems like there is a subscription service for everything these days but what about the things you really need, the everyday things you dread to run out of? Thankfully there are subscriptions for that. Here I’ll consider five different personal care subscription-based products that’ll make sure you never run out of things like shampoo or contacts again. (And though it has nothing to do with how well the products work, they all look pretty nice.)

quip

One of Time Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2016, quip wants to make clean teeth a part of everyone’s daily routine. Especially admirable when you consider that only around half of Americans brush their teeth twice a day — yikes.

Quip is trying to change that by making brushing your teeth an easy and consistent routine: when you sign up for the service you pick one of the many sleek toothbrushes and from then on are sent a fresh toothbrush head every 3 months. You can even get toothpaste delivered along with your brush head if you really don’t wanna take any chances.

There are many different options for plans: from pay-as-you-go to pre-paid and even bundles for couples or families. The most affordable pay-as-you-go option would be a plastic toothbrush (rather than metal) starter kit for $30 which includes the electric toothbrush, a toothbrush head, and a cover mount to either stick the brush to the bathroom mirror or to cover for travel.

From there it would be $5 every 3 months for a fresh toothbrush head to be sent to you. That’s $50 for a year of consistent oral hygiene that not only looks good but might save you a painful trip to the dentist. Even though quip is already a great deal, maybe check to see if Dealspotr has any quip promo codes available.

LOLA

LOLA is a subscription service that delivers customized boxes of menstrual products: you customize what products you want, how many, and how frequently you receive them.

Menstruation is an expensive and frequently annoying part of many people’s lives; the average American woman spends between $150 and $300 a year on menstrual products.

So what makes LOLA different?

Most commercial tampons and pads are made with non-organic cotton meaning they’re full of pesticides and known carcinogens and then mixed with other synthetic materials. LOLA uses no toxins, dyes, or synthetic materials, just organic cotton and nothing else. If we’re so concerned with not eating pesticides, maybe we should also rethink the other ways we’re putting them in our bodies. LOLA also donates menstrual products to low-income families who are often in situations of having to choose between tampons/pads and other essentials like food.

An 18-pack of tampons will run you $10, a bit pricier than a box of Tampax for sure, but not only can you customize how many of each kind you want but you have the peace of mind that you’re doing what’s best for your own health with the convenience of getting these products delivered right to your door. Plus, LOLA offers free shipping.

HUBBLE

HUBBLE wants to make daily contacts an affordable option for everyone. Their contacts are made in an FDA-approved facility and are designed for comfort and clear vision.

HUBBLE’s subscription service is $30 a month and can be cancelled at any time. This means you’re paying about a dollar a day for hassle-free, glasses-free vision. It’s generally accepted that daily/single-use contacts are more hygienic than weekly and monthly contacts but it’s been the price difference that keeps most people away.

I personally wear contacts almost every day and would prefer to wear dailies, but I wear bi-weekly contacts. This means I store/clean them every night and change them out every two weeks, and would jump at the chance to try HUBBLE. Unfortunately, they don’t offer lenses for astigmatism, which isn’t entirely uncommon in most contact lens brands.

As with any contact lenses you still need to get a prescription from an eye doctor but after that all you need to do is wait for your contacts to show up at your door every month. Plus, you can get your first box free. See if Dealspotr has any other HUBBLE promo codes.

Harry's

Harry’s wants to cut out the middleman when talking about razors. They own their own factory in Germany, which allows them to charge less for a better product.

Harry’s offers two different handle options and also sells shave gel and other skincare. You can just purchase products or you can sign up for a subscription, called a shave plan, that you can customize with what products and how many blades over any period of time. Monthly subscriptions vary in price depending on your choices but a non-subscription Truman set which includes a razor handle, three blades, shave gel, and a travel blade cover is $15 while a 4-pack of just blades is $8.

Harry’s also donates time and money to organizations that prepare people for professional and personal success through organizations like City Year and Year Up. Though Harry’s branding might be more masculine, I think it’s a good option for anyone that shaves (my personal philosophy is that if someone can shave their face with it, it’s more than good enough for shaving legs) and you’ll never be without a razor when you need it most. Maybe take a look on Dealspotr to see if there any deals before heading over to Harry’s.

Function of Beauty

Function of Beauty believes that everyone’s hair is unique, so everyone’s shampoo and conditioner should also be unique. When you enter the site you take a quiz about your hair type and your hair goals, then customize scents and colors. There are 12 billion possible combinations so you can rest assured you’re not getting the same exact formula as someone else and as an added bonus you get your name on the bottle to really make your formula yours.

Not only is your formula unique, you get the knowledge that it’s sulfate-free, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and made in the USA. You can also customize the quantities and frequencies that you receive with the Function of Beauty subscription: you have the option of getting the same amount of shampoo and conditioner, more shampoo or more conditioner, or even to just have either just shampoo or conditioner sent to you over periods of 1, 2, or 3 months.

For me personally, I use way more conditioner than shampoo and whenever I treat myself to a matching set of shampoo and conditioner, I always end up running out of conditioner before I’m even halfway done with my shampoo. I’m really looking forward to trying Function of Beauty, and if you are, too, check out Dealspotr for any Function of Beauty deals first.

Conclusion

Hopefully these subscription-based personal care and beauty products can help you make your life easier. Of the five I’ve talked about here, I’ve only used quip - but let me tell you, it’s nice to not have to remember to buy a new toothbrush or having to think about when I last changed it.

I know I’ll definitely be trying some more of these services. Honestly anything that lets me make the most of my valuable free time gets a thumbs up in my book.
