American retailing company Target and social media networking service Facebook have teamed up on a new website dubbed “Cartwheel”.

Cartwheel is a free mobile platform that allows consumers to access coupons for deals that can be used both online and in-stores. To redeem coupons in-store you have the option of bringing in a printed copy or you can bring up the coupon on your smartphone and show it at checkout. You must have a Facebook account to retrieve any of the deals through Cartwheel.
Every time you log into Cartwheel you will be logging in using your Facebook username and password, which also allows shoppers to share deals with friends on Facebook. Cartwheel is Target’s brave attempt at combining social media and online shopping, while also getting customers back into the store. Industry insiders are skeptical as to whether it will increase the retailer’s numbers, but Target executives are hopeful. Casey Carl, president of multi channel and senior vice president of strategy for Target explains, “Cartwheel bridges the in-store experience with social technology to help our guests discover and share personalized deal and inspiration with their friends.” Another great bonus, you can combine deals you find on Cartwheel with other coupons, including ours on BluePromoCode!
