- Grab a Walmart credit card if you are a frequent Walmart shopper. You can get a Walmart store card, which can be used only in Walmart stores, or you can get a Walmart Discover card, which you can use at any store that accepts Discover. There are exceptions to the ad matching policy - Walmart will not match Internet pricing, going out of business sales, percentage off sales, or items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price. Although the policy states that you don’t have to bring in the specific ad to get the price match, it’s still better to bring in proof, since Walmart’s customer service can be pretty inconsistent.
- Shop online for higher-end items, and for special deals. While Walmart stores will have varying inventory from store to store, Walmart.com will have just about everything you need, plus they often carry higher-end brands that may not be available in the physical stores.
