Summer is in full effect right now, and as many places have seen an optimistic return to some sort of normal, people are getting outside with a lot of “wow, we left the house, let’s live it up” energy.
Here at Dealspotr (as well as our other sites, Knoji and SimplyCodes), we’re always keeping an eye on the products, brands, and stores that are trending. And this week, for our weekly top five, we found some products (and brands) that are trending way up during the summer of 2021.

1. Throwback sunglasses

Pit Viper “The Radical Polarized” $100
Retro sunglasses are back in a big way this summer. We’ve noticed jumps in popularity across our network of sites right now for Pit Viper’s oversized sunglasses. Their sunglasses come to you straight out of your favorite ‘80s beach party movie (and will keep on looking good when you wear them on the slopes this winter as you try to replicate your favorite ‘80s ski movie). I’m personally going to wear a pair next time some rich jerk is planning to bulldoze the teen center and it’s up to me and my friends to defeat him in a random sporting event to save the day.
2. Last-minute hotel rooms
HotelTonight’s listing for Kinzie Hotel, Chicago $127
If my trip to the airport earlier this week taught me anything, it’s that literally everyone in the entire country is traveling right now. (And somehow all of them were traveling out of LAX at the exact same moment.) With summer travel just coming back on the table this year, I’m thinking a lot of these trips are spontaneous ones. The data backs that up, too: We’re seeing a bump in popularity for HotelTonight — a travel booking website that specializes in last-minute hotel deals. It’s a great way to snag a room at a reduced price the day you need it (although you can also use the site to book in advance, too).
3. High-tech grilling thermometers

ThermoWorks’ Signals BBQ Alarm Thermometer w/ Wifi and Bluetooth $191
Like my grandfather always told me, nothing kills a barbecue like undercooked meat. Fortunately, we’re lucky enough to live in a time where professional-level cooking tools are available for all of us (and at reasonable prices, too). Meat (oh, and forehead) thermometer brand ThermoWorks is on the rise this summer thanks to its sophisticated and innovative thermometers, some of which are even Bluetooth- and wifi-enabled. They even have one that gives you an accurate internal meat temperature in one second flat. And you know what that means: now the race is on for someone to come up with a meat thermometer that gives you an accurate internal temperature in half a second.
4. Bathing suits that protect you from the sun

Mott50’s Mila Banana Palm Long Sleeve One-Piece $118
Reapplying sunscreen is a good idea — but something we all forget to do pretty much every single time we’re at the beach or a pool and having fun. Bathing suits that offer better sun protection are trending right now, and Mott50 has some of the most popular (and stylish) long-sleeve and zip-up suits on the market. They sell protective bathing suits and more for women, men, and kids.
5. Alcohol delivery

Drizly’s recommended serving of Absolut Vodka $35
Everyone forgot how to shop for a party in the past year (it was inevitable) so now parties everywhere are falling victim to underbuying. Instead of stopping the party to make a beer run, people are increasingly turning to Drizly for its alcohol-on-demand delivery service. They promise to deliver alcohol in 60 minutes or less and they’ll find you drinks from the big national companies and smaller craft brands as well.
